Short Interest Rising
U.S. Aerospace & Defense sector short interest is $27.9 billion and increased by $2.1 billion over the last thirty days. Boeing (BA US), General Electric (GE US) & Howmet Aerospace (HWM US) are the largest shorts in the sector.
Short MTM Losses Increasing
Short sellers are down -$1.3 billion, -4.8%, over the last thirty days. 81% of every dollar shorted in the sector has been unprofitable. Rocket Lab (RKLB US), RTX Corp (RTX US) & Howmet Aerospace (HWM US) were the most unprofitable recent shorts. Boeing (BA US), Archer Aviation (ACHR US) & Intuitive Machines (LUNR US) were the most profitable shorts.
Largest Recent Short Selling\Covering
Aerospace & Defense stock prices usually rise in times of conflict, so we should be seeing more short covering replacing the recent increased short selling we have seen. Over the last thirty days the most short covering occurred in Rocket Lab (RKLB US), TransDigm (TDG US) & Axon Enterprise (AXON US) and most short selling in L3Harris Technologies (LHX US), Howmet Aerospace (HWM US) & BWX Tech (BWXT US).
